South Africa, as a matter of common cause was and still is burdened with the COVID-19 outbreak. The outbreak lead to the compulsory national lockdown which took effect on 26 March 2020. With the introduction of the national lockdown, Government as part of its risk adjustment strategy, announced various levels of lockdown, with level 5 carrying the most restrictions and level 1 the lowest. On Saturday 30th May 2020, the Honorable Minister Nathi Mthethwa, in consideration of lockdown level 3 declared by National Government announced by way of Directions a staggered opening of professional non-contact sport and professional athletes training. 3Di-Target South Africa in response to and in compliance with the Directions prepared and submitted its operational plan setting out the proposed operational plan for the reopening of 3D archery and was permission to resume with its sporting activities.
The approved Operational Plan of 3Di-Target South Africa specifically provided that a staggered approach will be followed to ensure the safety of athletes, support staff and officials and shall be adjusted informed by any Regulations and or Directions as determined by the Government regulating sporting activities under Government from time to time.
The country is currently in lock down level one and 3Di-Target South Africa has since May adjusted the implementation of the staggered approach as per the Operational Plan in full compliance with the applicable legislative prescript regulating a specific lock-down level.
Please note that for Level 1 Lock-Down the following relaxed steps or measures, read with the Operation Plan, are taken and or introduced as per legislative prescript and directions to ensure compliance –
- 50% Venue Capacity – Maxed at 250 indoors
- 50% Venue Capacity – Maxed at 500 outdoors
- Open to new Club and Venue applications
- Larger Shooting Groups
- No spectators on the Range
- Meal served, subject to all COVID regulatory prescript

The safety of archers, be it for COVID 19 purposes or otherwise, is the primary priority of 3Di-Target SA.
The health and safety measures, determined by National Regulations or Directions read with the measures and processes set out in the 3Di Target South Africa Operational Plan will strictly be implemented and complied with.
